Neon Puke Progression
Just some progress shots of this project, completed version here.
The earliest shot I have, outlined in Sharpie
The flat color is so nice here I almost wish I had stopped, or at least scanned it high res so I could continue in another direction from this point
Adding shadow and dimension, starting the highlights
More or less the finished piece. After the shadow and highlight pass, I decided to go back in with some complementary color and really try to push the depth.
Pizza Skull Update
Continuing to color ol Pizza face here, a lot of complicated line work had to be resolved because I didn't think about it hard enough when drawing in black. Considering some alternate color ways, but I think I'll start with the most traditional; I'm worried that the concept may not read without familiar coloring. It'll be easy enough to create choices down the line. One of the best reasons to be using global color in your work.
With colors this close in saturation, being able to adjust each globally from the swatches is a huge help
